Toy Machine Skateboards was founded in 1993 by pro skater Ed Templeton. Templeton was unable to pick between two names, "Toy Skateboards" and "Machine Skateboards" so a friend of his - and also professional skateboarder - Ethan Fowler suggested he mix the two together, thus creating Toy Machine Skateboards. Many famous professional skateboarders have gotten their first start through Toy Machine's numerous videos, including Jamie Thomas and Josh Kalis in Heavy Metal, Bam Margera and Kerry Getz in Jump Off a Building, and Elissa Steamer in Welcome to Hell. Unique graphics, excellent shape and pop, and a solid pro team has helped make it a top brand in the skateboard community. Today, its pro team consists of owner and founder Ed Templeton, Austin Stephens, Diego "The Butcher" Bucchieri, Billy Marks, Josh Harmony, Johnny Layton, Leo Romero, Tristan Robledo, Matt Bennett, Collin Provost, Jordan Taylor and Daniel Lutheran. The red horned devil monster character logo has become famously identifiable over the years in the skate community, and has given way to numerous new graphics that tend to portray odd cartoon-like characters. Their board construction is superior to others and utilizes the P2 construction for decks that uses an oval shaped Aramid fiber reinforcement panel on the top ply layer for extra strength and spring loaded pop making them a must have for any serious skater.
